I’ve lived all over the island—North Shore, Kailua, Makiki, Nu‘uanu, Waipio, Ewa Beach, Mililani, Pearl City, Kaimuki—and honestly, the kindest people I’ve met are on the West Side. Complete strangers helped me just because it was the right thing to do. Sure, there are “bad” people everywhere, but my best experiences with genuine kindness have been on the West Side.
