I recommend reading Tim Keller on things about pain and suffering. Coming from a pentecostal background i can relate. I had to break with people who put more emphasis on emotion than on apologetics. Tim Keller has helped me out tremendously

I feel like purity culture ruined the whole dating experience for a lot of people. I've saved myself for someone special but I'm sure as hell didn't save myself for marriage. I'm sure God understands that. ❤️

omg Pentecostal pk too, upc. atheist now. real weird upbringing....screwed me up for many years...of course the choir director was diddling kids, my aunt ( bible quizzing coach) murdered my uncle for insurance, the Sunday school teacher dude cheated on his wife w church secretary, the diddler also had secret homosexual affairs with other church deacons , but they all beat us mercilessly into submission of how we should live
