Omg the same thing happened to my daughter! She had just moved to NY and started seeing a new PCP. She needed an anxiety script renewed and they told her she would need a blood test. She took it without hesitation. Results came back positive for opioids. Not only would they not renew her script, because she was so emotionally upset and insistent that she didn’t take drugs, the doctor essentially kicked her out of the practice which led to more emotional distress. All of this because she was eating everything bagels with poppy seeds. We eventually figured this out on our own. To this day she is ultra vigilant that she eats nothing containing poppy seeds.
