Yes the attorney needs to make sure judge knows she refused to return the child and how old is this child?? I would get child in counseling so they can talk because they might be telling them the stuff happening at the other house and that will help in court.

Absolutely go get that kid! Immediately file paperwork and fight for your kid. My boyfriend is dealing with a similar issue. Protect that kid!!

I would go to court to get full custody and put mom on supervised visitation and definitely request that mom have an evaluation done to protect my child and I would get an second opinion ( evaluation) I would request a my child have an court appointed advocate for my child to start with

document everything either picture or full custody on dad and everything gets Cc to the attorney...so you take care of the child

He would still have primary custody, but he would be able to allow more visitation time as things became better and would also show Mom things to be improved and that dad is doing this for the child and in the process it may help the mother

dad's doing everything right. maybe try adding therapy for the child only because what mom did and does could majorly affect him. do the research and make sure it's the best therapist you could possibly find. child may not need it long term and if he does there is absolutely nothing wrong with that.

dad needs to file for full, request a mental health evaluation on mom, get kid into therapy ASAP, and supervised visits. might also push for a drug test to be done to ensure moms mental health isn't being worsened by substances. it seems child would also have referrals to principal office is this was constant behavior, dad could probably ask for teacher statements to also take to court supporting his position.

Agreed the child needs a stable home and if that’s what Is what is best for the child ! I would file full legal custody and have supervised visits with mom .

I would ask for biomom to have a mental evaluation and ask for supervised visits. I am so sorry this is happening to your friend's family. I'd document the spankings/biomoms reason for it and maybe bring it up in court

Exactly the right move. I’m glad dad has an attorney working on it. Outpatient therapy for the kid would be something I would insist on because kid needs help processing the disparity between households at the very least.

It’s mom, she’s the issue. Dad will need to fight for 100% custody with supervised visitation for mom.
