someone in my IOP therapy group said they started using chatgpt as a coping skill and the group therapist (after acknowledging not even knowing chatgpt could do that) encouraged this. i felt it necessary to chime in and encourage everyone to research how the use of chatgpt for mental health purposes (especially for people who are already su!c!dal) has been proven to cause psychosis. the therapist brushed it off by saying “well two things can be true! it can be harmful and helpful, just like an other machine”. wanted to rip my hair out
