I’m a ford tech. Half the time the recall is just an inspection. I kind of respect Ford for it. They don’t pay well though.

At least they’re taking accountability. Gm is denying they have any issues

Most of those recalls are just a reprogramming the software

to me it's 100% dependent on what the recall is for

Well, I do respect the company that will take care of the problems and not stick it to the owners

The problem is their accountants. The engineers design the parts and the accountants tell them to cut $ out of it. This leads to cheaply made parts with inferior materials. Also they redesign systems to make them cheaper and it’s a disaster. This is why when you’re working on something you look at it and say “why would they make it like this”. It’s not just Ford it’s everyone. So instead of you paying a couple thousand more for a quality product, the accountants have met a price point. Not a lot of difference in paying 58,999.00 from 60,000.00. Just looks better on paper.

I'm still waiting on a final recall letter on my 2024 GMC 6.2. It's all bad.

That’s like a restaurant cook putting out burnt food, undercooked, over salted food every day then when it comes back he says oops don’t worry, I’ll remake the dish and fix it. Would you call that a good cook?

it's a show of how bad the quality is. if they thought they could get away with not having to repair something they wouldn't. there is no such thing as a company that's going to be considerate of your wallet or your feelings

Well at least Ford owns up to it. But truth be told when it comes to all the brands they dot. Make em to last. They’re over priced, cheap, unreliable and badly designed vehicles. Which is another reason why the used car market is crazy right now.

I think it’s usually they are quick to do any recalls especially anything safety related. For instance I think one of the most recent recalls was over a million units however the amount that are thought to be to be affected was less than 10% I think the transparency is great and I think it shows they have a commitment to the customer.

Recall = flawed design or parts. Usually a band-aid fix is applied. Forget Ford.

So, would you everyone rather they keep quite about issues that surface and tell their customers that they are on their own? Don't you wonder if other OEM's are just hiding their quality issues from the public?

Vast majority are software updates/inspections. Also getting ahead of “potential” issues before addressing them AFTER they possibly arise. Quality is an issue across the board with all manufactures. When vehicles are advancing at the rate they are, expect hiccups.

When did recalls become a badge of honor? How about, hear me out, we do it right the first time? Ford is not packing my parachute! 😏

The more they rely on software, the more recalls there will be for updates.
