I remember the trans woman who competed in a Paralympic women’s track and field event a few years ago who finished mid-field. Some trans people tried to say that she clearly had no physical advantage b/c she didn’t win the contest. What they failed to mention is that she was 51.

I understand the argument but the divide between men and women is a chasm compared to anything you could possibly trace to racial heritage. And racial heritage is blurred in ways the sexes are not.

Strongest man is white (Brian Shaw) tallest man ever was white. Just cause stats say an average doesn’t mean anything when you’re dealing with the top 1%. I say the same thing judge off the merits. If a trans person preforms as well as a woman that’s where they go but if they are so far beyond the capabilities of woman than it’s truly not fair. When you compare let’s say the best female tennis player she would rank around 700th overall and she fully admits it. Science cannot be denied when it comes to sports. Race is different on a margin but genetics paints the full picture, also just the fact that they are on certain compounds excludes them from competing in some events (test for a transgender man).

Now I haven’t seen all the literature surrounding every sport about this topic but from what I’ve gathered, even MtF athletes don’t end up performing that well if they’re actively doing HRT. In official sports, I can see the argument as to allow MtF athletes IF they’re doing HRT because it’s easier to test them. In high school and the such, it’s harder to regulate that stuff. This is where I do agree that MtF athletes should not be competing.

That’s kinda a strawman argument 😭 idk what was happening there. But if your point is that we shouldn’t go further than sex-based categories, otherwise it’s racist and like the Nazis, then idk what to even say to that. That’s just not related at all. Trans women are women, and it’s only fair for them to be in their place, like you said.. that’s how we should characterize. And I already explained like a million times why the whole “they’re stronger so it’s unfair” thing doesn’t hold up. But thanks for your opinion Ig

You’re proving the point Des. The fact that there are so many caveats and so much gray area is exactly why trans people should be allowed in the sport as they identify. If we aren’t making a separate red head league, why would we make a separate trans league? Why is one arbitrary line any better than another?

this argument you're making feels like an extreme ngl, especially cuz you're speaking on a general scale of all the sports. Realistically the amount of trans people in sports is below 1% on the collegiate level on below and when you tell all 50 total trans athletes they can't play a sport that's just wrong

I don’t think you’re taking to account children that transition before puberty who have never developed any male characteristics and developed female. I’m not saying you’re trans phobic but I do believe that there should be exceptions and spaces created for athletes like this as they do not have a biological advantage. Trans women exist in all forms and there’s no one answer to it all it should be situational based.
