I’d give them what you could afford and then write a note in the card about how that how you appreciated being able to help her out so much with the planning since it wasn’t in your budget to get a large gift.

Hot take: the showerhead is actually a nice thoughtful gift cus it’s something from the industry they work in… sure they ignored OR DIDNT REALIZE the cash only, but I don’t think they did anything gravely wrong
