That style of treadle valve tends to stick also. Pull the pedal over the valve and clean and lube with a dry lube

that’s a pretty common valve any truck shop should have it, just make sure you install it the way it came out. good luck

most commonly i see the foot valve not releasing all the way. the pivot pin freezes in the aluminum pedal and won't allow it to come up all the way.
