@newmoneynate: Part 3… can you actually “force” someone into retirement? #careertips #succession #corporate #PersonalFinance #careerdevelopment #careertiktok #genz #boomer
Just left this situation. Boomer boss set me up as succession. 3 years turned to 5 turned to “Just a few more” and then “another 3-5”. Lot of talk of being second son and how he’s setting me up for future and the team’s direction was my vision. But the Truth is these guys can’t (or won’t) fully retire. Don’t get stuck padding their retirement accounts.

Easy. You’re fired. Write a check? No check. You’re fired with cause. There is no severance package.

A boomer that agreed to retire and hand thing off and then refuses to do so and causes issues for the people they hire and they are oblivious to it? What a surprise.

truthfully as the young millennial it is definitely time for the older generation to start letting go like they said they would and let the newer generations that have understanding of what's going on not necessarily take over but we should probably be guided but if y'all are not willing to guide we are not willing to work with you there's a big difference between working with you and being arrogant working with you

good play. Gen Z was not given the retirement date promised and understood their leverage well. no one is owed anything - even their life's work.

This is how we all need to “force” the old to retire. If you are over the age of 56-57 ish and been CEO or any high position for 10+ years, I think it’s time you give someone more tech savvy and up-to-date the position.

What started as a simple handover turned into a full on corporate hostage situation. Retirement? Please. We’re deep in betrayal, bluffing, and backdoor deals now. Even the snitches have plot twists. Drop the next episode already.
