Something that I heard that helped me achieve more inter peace was “I will not be a sanctuary for your guilt” you can’t harbor all of the emotions from both parties. That’s what you end up doing. People that do that sorta thing are fundamentally broken people. The thing you should only be ‘sorry’ for is that she might not ever truly be happy herself since she is avoiding fixing herself as a person. Also if you can focus on never putting any expectations on people at all you can love freely. once you do it becomes hard for them to live up to them in all facets of life. Life is hard. Don’t make it harder on yourself by expecting anything because in reality it never will be fulfilling
