Rebuilding After Injury: Not Just Physical You can see the fear in my face here..and honestly, it’s valid. Coming back from an injury isn’t just about regaining strength. It’s about rebuilding trust... in your body, in the movement, and in your ability to do hard things again. I’m working back from a hip injury. Physically, I’m capable of squatting. But mentally? That’s where the real work is. Pain reprocessing is a key part of this. It’s not about ignoring pain. It’s about reframing it: Reminding your brain that the movement is safe Staying present through the fear instead of bracing against it Gradually proving to yourself that you're not broken Important note: Always follow the guidance of your PT and medical team when returning from injury. I’m cleared to squat and have a plan in place. This isn’t about pushing through pain. It’s about rebuilding your relationship with the lift. If you're in the thick of it and scared, cautious, but showing up anyway...I see you. Healing is nonlinear, and progress can look like a shaky rep with a scared face. It still counts.
