The assault targeted critical civilian infrastructure, including hospitals, schools filled with children, a gas station, and a 7-Eleven convenience store. As a result of this heinous act, more than two schoolchildren were tragically killed, and a total of eight innocent civilians — including children — lost their lives. Such an attack represents a grave breach of moral and legal norms, and underscores a deeply concerning disregard for civilian life by the Cambodian authorities. We, the people of Thailand, hereby declare that our nation has always stood for peace, diplomacy, and mutual respect among neighboring countries. However, recent acts of aggression initiated by the Kingdom of Cambodia have violated these principles and endangered innocent Thai lives. On 24 July 2025, Cambodian military forces fired the first shots, thereby initiating an unprovoked act of war against Thailand. As a result, Thai civilians and soldiers have lost their lives, and the sovereignty of our nation has been threatened.
