Đinh Thị Mỹ Tiên :
As a social worker, I am deeply saddened by the recent border conflict between Thailand and Cambodia. Though the root cause lies in territorial disputes, the true victims are innocent civilians: dozens killed, hundreds of thousands forced to flee in panic, living in hardship amid gunfire, explosions, and constant fear.
To me, war is never the answer. Children are unable to go to school, the elderly lack medicine, and mothers carry their children while escaping danger — this is the real picture of “conflict.”
Social work, in times like these, means action. It means being there to provide psychological support, distributing meals, and connecting communities with aid. But more importantly, we are the voice — for peace, for the right to live safely, and for the belief that every human being deserves protection, no matter which side of the border they are on.
I truly hope that after the smoke clears, there will be more hands reaching out to each other than weapons aimed. Because only peace can heal the deepest wounds in the hearts of people.
