I had the thought about AO3 as well....like where do they draw the line? I've already had to ID myself to use Reddit. I'm sorry but tools should be given to parents to monitor their kids Internet use better not forced on all adults.

lemme introduce you to the immaculate concept of vpns. sure most are paid for but if you're just using it for ao3 and other stuff like reddit or twitter it's fine to use the free ones. just do you're research about them first.

ik the ongoing joke is it's all the gooners coming together, but the fact this affects EVERYONE. Like I don't rlly read any explicit material, I just read hurt/comfort stories, if ao3 is banned then we lose that too. Providing our IDs to access a website is arguably more dangerous than just accessing the site itself. The possibility of someone getting their hands on our data is dangerous. You can find out everything there is to no about someone if you have their ID, and that's terrifying. Let parents teach their kids, give the parents tools and materials to help them teach their kids about online safety, add lessons in primary school all the way to secondary about online safety. There are so many things you can do instead of affecting the entire population
