It's even worse, when you had ambitions, but your abusive parents destroyed everything by giving you CPTSD 😭

Covid ruined my life. After the first year of lockdown I found out I am autistic and I was masking my whole life. Spending that long at home I couldn’t put the mask back on. Been severely depressed since. lol it’s over for me

I was a high honors student who graduated with college credits & a 3.9 GPA. I still didn’t get enough scholarships/aid to attend the colleges I got accepted to. I’m still not in college 5 years later due to the cost. Doing well in HS ≠ an easy life

I think it more depends on the genetic lottery and which family birthed you tbh

Idk if it helps anyone to hear this but I was really depressed as a kid/teenager, I wanted to drop out of high school and I graduated with a really low grade. Now, 3 years later, I’m happier and I’m studying to get into medschool. Just remember, you aren’t what others think of you. Don’t let anyone stand in the way of your dream life

and random life events just throwing you off track completely. I graduated at 16, had a great full time job, was doing good and at 19 I lost my legs and havent been able to recover most of my life i was building. threw me off track, lost my job and ability to ever perform that job again, I have no idea what to do with my life anymore and I'm 25 now

it's actually not scary at all because I have not once in my adult life have anyone ask about my highschool grades
or even my uni grades
or which uni I went to
or even what degree I got
genuinely nobody cares, thank goodness

I don't agree with that cause it's never to late to change your life. if you didn't get a highschool certificate, you can always get a GED as an adult. and if you did get one but not good grades, you can still go to college and get a degree. even if you don't have a degree, you can change up your jobs. as long as you work hard (within reason of course) you can change, it just won't be easy if you didn't start out good.

I wasn’t exactly good or bad, I was just eh. Now I’m 19, graduated with 2 cords, got my 1st job, and going for my drivers license soon. I’m planning on saving up to take a course online to become a pharmacy technician. 🤷🏻♀️

I often think, “how come I never achieved this?” “Why didn’t I practice my electives more?” “I know I’m smart” then I remember all my undiagnosed learning disabilities and mental health like… if I just had some help back then I think I’d be better now, but now I have to make up for what I rightfully couldn’t do, I feel so behind

I think it mostly depends on your social skills and social challenges in high school guys. Having a high grade meant nothing if you didn't meet the right people or have the social skills to get in or out of certain situations. That's why so many people still seem like they are in high school because it's the last place they knew how to operate before being dropped into adulthood.

Honestly I'm kinda worried about how I developed, a small rant; but I sometimes had to be the parent when my parents were passed out, and the people who'd get them into bad habits like drinking would always be on my nerves.
I always saw them as the problem, someone I needed to get out of my life.
and when they unfortunately passed away from various circumstances, I can't help but feel worried I was normalizing thoughts of those poor people being gone just because I disliked my life?
I never told my parents this, and I fear they'll judge me for it.
