We have an Irish wolfhound/lab mix named Rowan. He is the sweetest, smartest good boy. Wolfhounds are my favorite forever now.

I know this feeling, or should I say, we experience this almost daily. I walk my Wolfhounds in a neighborhood with many wild animals. Sighthounds are a different breed and the Wolfhound is an apex predator. I've learned so much about them, and mainly, to make better decisions for them. Similar to your encounter with Shamus and the armadillo. Avoiding close encounters, and seeing the distractions before my pups, is key. I talk them through all of it. I have learned so much about the Wolfhound nature. They love to chase and have the ability to shut off their hearing, if something of interest comes into sight. They are incredibly powerful, they have a 'pack mentality', and if provoked, an unstoppable force. I know this from experience! Oh my!!
