One year ago, I held you in my arms for the first time. The pain I endured during that labor was unbearable, but I appreciate all mothers who go through any type of birth, whether vaginal, C-section, or any other method. It was just me and Grandma Maria (mom’s mom) in that room. But when I held you, all that pain was over. I cried with happiness, shocked by the emotions I was feeling, being alone with only Grandma Maria and I’m grateful for her continuous help throughout my pregnancy, after and still. I hold no regret; you are the best gift God ever sent to me. You taught me how to be strong, love, be a better person and a phenomenal mother. I will do everything in my power to always provide and protect you. I love you so much, my baby boy. Now that I have you I know I will never be alone. I wish you a happy 1st birthday. We’re done with monthly birthdays now 😅; now it’ll be every year. I’m a good, proud mother, and I’ll enjoy every year with you, my prince. So proud of you learning new things and especially Italian 🥰 I’ll make sure life is easier for you and give you everything you’ll need. I’ve been both a mother and a father figure, and I regret not giving you a united family and for that I am deeply sorry but know that this is not your fault and it’ll never be. But at least you have everyone on my side who loves you very much and surprisingly also Grandpa Joe (moms dad) that checks in time to time. I’ve realized Grandma Maria and that your uncles (mom’s brothers) and aunties (mom’s sisters-in-law) love you and will protect you. The road was bumpy for me, but I’m making it smooth. It’ll be even smoother once you start understanding life. I won’t say you have a golden spoon in your mouth because I won’t count the eggs before they hatch. I want to make sure we have it before counting them. You are my lucky child, and I thank god everyday for you. That’s when I started living that when I knew what life meant and it “YOU”. Words can’t describe how much love I have for you, my baby boy. God knows how much my love is for you. Just looking at you makes me want to push through everything and strive to make everything better. I promise you Marcello and I’m the one that keeps promises and knows how to maintain them and that I will push through everything for you. I hope you enjoy your first birthday, and God bless you each year 10x fold. I’ll go all out for all your special occasions because you mean the universe to me.
