I say this all the time! People don't understand how privileged we are to have these modern miracles - vaccines, pasteurization, etc. Our privledge allows us to be ignorant. Between 20-30% of children died before their 5th birthday before vaccines.

My stepdad has year round allergies and suppose to take med everyday. He stopped having symptoms and stopped taking med. “I don’t have problems when I take it but the second I stop o have allergies” This is the level of common sense I have to deal with.
