Cambodia had no reason at all to attack Thailand. The land in question, including the temple, was already recognized by the ICJ as ours. So what would we gain by starting a fight? It was Thailand that wanted to attack and provoke, trying to reclaim what doesn’t belong to them. And when Cambodia tried to handle this peacefully through the ICJ, Thailand refused. Why? Because they know they’d lose. Instead of respecting international law, they chose aggression and then played the victim. This whole situation proves exactly who started it and it wasn’t Cambodia. #WeWantPeace

It’s also worth noting that on July 23, Thailand announced it would recall its ambassador from Cambodia and expelled Cambodian ambassador from Bangkok. Then, on July 24, the attack began. Doesn’t that timeline suggest prior preparation for conflict? They continue to accuse Cambodia of planting landmines and demand we take responsibility yet they’ve taken no legal action. No appeals to international courts. Nothing. It appears to be a narrative crafted to justify their actions and mislead both their own people and the international community.

Thailand falsely accused Cambodia of targeting civilian areas and hospitals. But in truth, Cambodia acted in self-defense. The few damaged sites were located next to Thai military positions actively firing on Cambodian troops and civilians. What would the world expect Cambodia to do when our soldiers, people and land are under attack first? Our sacred Preah Vihear Temple and the other temples are now severely and irreparably damaged even if it was never used for military purposes. Thailand also use cluster bomb in Cambodia which heavily ban by international community, its F-16 now are shooting civilians, property & pagodas. I urge international media to report news from both sides as many civilians and families in Cambodia are displaced, humanitarian relief may needed if Thailand won’t stop using its fighter jet.
