I’ve been doing my own nails since I developed agoraphobia in 2018. I went to a nail salon when outside opened back up to treat myself and paid $100 for a basic short almond set. No design no nothing. I never went back. I will continue to do them at home.

just a tip as a nail tech (that you didnt ask for😆) if you avoid putting oils or cream a day or two before you put your nails on they should last you longer

Nails definitely are a luxury but I think most nail techs forget that they are a small luxury. Something that most people can afford in their lives, but also an expense that can be stopped if needed. Nails are not a large luxury that only the wealthy should be able to afford.

I am not gonna lie I love the nail techs but the experience at the nail salon stresses me out I don’t like germs so I’m on edge the whole time my neck stiff by the time I leave and I started at home and I have fallen in LOVE with doing them myself it’s my quiet time
