U did decision 1 , which college . My daughter did gymnastics from 3 to 17 . Yes a lot of mental abuse and gym changes and moving up levels , injuries and wins and losses. I miss the Leo and the competition. She has a part time coaching now .

I remember sacrificing my elementary summer years for gymnastics training camps because of the pressures from my parents and especially from my coaches. I was fortunate to train with Dominique Moceanu and Dominique Dawes but I felt so isolated. My friends were having fun while I trained for something that I was not passionate about anymore. I didn't realize I love/hated the sport until my sophomore year of college when my mental wellness drastically declined. I'm glad that I learned the sport physically but the mental abuse was too much for me.

Wow such cool videos,so talented Jen👏My little sister wanted to take gymnastics after watching the Olympics 🥇 (so I tagged along too)but not very long.We took from a man named Yuri in upstate NY back in the day.Glad I tried it,even if briefly.

Gymnastics is an amazing sport that teaches you so much but definitely can be toxic. My daughter did it her whole life and the mental abuse was definitely there ❤️she ended up tearing both ACL’s but was able to finish her senior year!

I played volleyball all through jr HS and HS and when we’d lose a game we would get back to the gym and have to run sprints and get the ball slammed at our forearms to practice and have bruised arms for weeks. It was all normal but I remember thinking it was wrong

I was the same age in the same era but was a swimmer. What we went through wasn’t normal….coaches got away with so much.
