@drjolenebrighten: Replying to @Uhhhhhhhhhlyssa When it comes to thyroid labs, we want to follow up on abnormal TSH with repeat labs and correlate the labs to patient symptoms. TSH is the brain hormone that communicates to the thyroid Free T4 is what the thyroid makes Free T3 is the active thyroid hormone that helps regulate you mood, metabolism, menstrual cycle, and gut. Some of it is produced by the thyroid, but much of it is converted in tissues outside of the thyroid. TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies detect autoimmune disease, the number one cause of hypothyroidism. There are ranges on the labs in which you will see some antibodies, but we don’t want them detectable outside the reference range. Hope this helps #thyroid #thyroidlabs #hypothyroidism #hypothyroid #hormones
What are your thoughts on TSH being a normal level, low free T3 and the other thyroid labs are normal… Cortisol is extremely low and thyroid being low. What do you think? I’m a 44 year-old female with severe endometriosis, adenomyosis, and as that is gone from relapsing remitting to secondary progressive, which doesn’t even make sense honestly. Everything is atypical.

Dr. Jolene Brighten :
When it comes to TSH, lower isn’t better. There is a point where that tips into hyperthyroidism, but there’s also symptoms that accompany that.

Just to confirm. Are those levels abnormal? Or is that what it should be?
