I feel like when it comes to brands like Ralph Lauren (white owned brands) they can afford to go niche because they are going to be supported by rich white people or in this case of Oak Bluffs, rich black people because it’s collection is a ode to them. But we know from experience black people don’t support black own businesses because they’re too busy supporting white American and European owned businesses so yeah it would probably be best for black businesses to try to cater to all people to profit as much as possible.

It’s okay for non-Black brands to do featured collections - it’s also a limited run. A BoBrand needs to do everything for everybody. For better or worse, some of Black owned requirement became more prominent with Fenty.
