@gianamj: Replying to @hellaoptimistic here are some of my recommendations for black women who want to be prepared and empowered when combating the health disparities discussed in my previous video! #healthdisparities #blackwomenshealth #femininehealth #medicalracism #medicalmisogony #womenshealth
Be careful of those so-called patient advocates... they work for the hospital, but everything else was on point and facts! Also, if you have good insurance, they tend to run unnecessary tests such as MRIs, CT scans, X-rays etc...

Having someone with you is so important. My father had congestive heart failure and he had no clue, I read his test results and asked the provider why it was not mentioned and what is their plan

as one of the few black female doctors out there I highly support your message! I also do my best to listen to all my patients concerns and share my reasoning behind my decisions. I love when patients have a timeliness of their symptoms and are active in their medical care 💗💗

My sister in law is a patient advocate! She goes to bat for patients. The doctors get mad but she keeps pushing

I looked up those groups on FB but couldn’t find them. I saw them as just Pages but not groups. Did I misunderstand?

mychart is a perfect and convenient way to keep track of your care. If you see providers at different health systems, it adds them in one place to access your chart and billing.

I love that you’re sharing this information. Also, if it’s a one-party consent state, make sure to record your interactions via voice memo. I’ve done this majority of the time I speak with my Drs.

What are your thoughts on hospitals or facilities performing pelvic exams while women are under anesthesia and I’ve seen videos on TikTok where I learned this and I never even knew that this was happening
