First off, pride isn’t a religion, it’s a way for marginalized people to feel seen. We pay the 20 bucks a day or whatever it is to maintain that little monument because it represents a civil rights movement that brought light to some of the issues plaguing our society. Second… our country shouldn’t be paying for religion? Separation of church and state is vital to the continuation of the union.

Religion? LGBT is a religion now? It’s pathetic that people think being gay is some grand accomplishment. Imagine if straight people made being straight their entire personalities the way most gay people do. I work with a butch lesbian who finds a way to say “my ex-wife” or “my girlfriend” at least 20 times a day or brings up some story about how someone is or was bullying her because she’s gay at least a few times a week. As if we can’t tell or have somehow forgotten that she’s a lesbian. It’s exhausting. I guarantee people would like her more if she didn’t do that crap constantly.
