@herbal_oracles: In my opinion, Witchcraft is the portal to reach a higher power. It is not separate from my spirituality, but a tool that allows me to reach it. My practice allows me to connect in ways that I have never before and though my life has not been ruled in a conventional belief in God, it has been directed into the understanding that a Higher Power resides within me. (And you.) This is why I lay out ritual to honor this life I have been given and to call in powers that be. My spirit work is to listen to the energy of all that surrounds me and oftentimes there’s a story within the silence. The trees are my temple. The ocean a guide. My home, a living and breathing sanctuary. The moss, a reminder to move a little slower. The plants, a healer- and so on. It is all medicine. Sitting with my tarot cards, my journal, candles, herbs and crystals, they are all tools to lay me at the “foot” of something bigger than myself. Yet, it lives within me. A wild calling to the unknown. A roadmap. A sword. A teacher. All weaving my spirit to the magic this universe holds. So, if you were to ask me how important my practice is to who I am in this life, it would be easy to say that they don’t exist without each other and this revelation has changed my life.
