I edit on alight motion too and I get this but I figured how to be on beat, I just mark my beats on capcut then use pictures to fill in the beats...

Hey so alight motion editor here. To make your life easier, try making one or two transitions (as far as it wouldn’t lag and can still see what you‘ve been doing) then copy those layers of the transitions (clip + null if you added them, but without audio) and paste them into a separate element, now just add an invisible form at the end a bit over the end cause alight tends to shorten ur clip by one frame if you export without and then you can just export it and import it into ur original project as a video🙏

omg ik the pain I used to use AM years ago and this used to be the bane of my existence!! pro tip tho split ur audio first w colored solids u can split it on another app w these solids so u can guarantee the audio is well split on beats also try to see in AM settings if there's anything that allows to prioritize smoother playing of the timeline and don't add any motion blurring until the very end
