@nataliejillfit: Yesterday = full-blown pity party about the new temporary nerve pain 🫠Today ,I’m practicing what I preach… shifting my focus OFF the pain and ON what I actually want. I needed to figure something out quick today because I’m literally speaking on stage in an hour (yes with sneakers) and need to be in empowering, teaching mode, not pity party mode. A convo with a friend about DNA and pain perception early this morning got me thinking (and obsessing, as I do!) about how I could shift my focus.. QUICKLY And I don’t pretend to have all the answers. Many times I really need to be the student! But when I do figure out things that help, I love to share. I found something today that I’ve been listening to for the last two hours… (headphones still in as I post this) and it’s completely shifted my mood. Sharing in case you’re stuck in a negative loop or navigating any type of pain and need a mental break: 8D music. Go to your favorite music platform, grab a pair of headphones (it only works with headphones!), and search for an 8D music playlist. The way the sound moves left to right pulls your focus away from pain signals and calms your nervous system. Bonus: it also triggers those feel-good chemicals (aka natural painkillers). Headphones on. Music swirling around your head. Instant reset. Now I’m ready to get on stage with my energy and focus where I want it, NOT on the pain… I realize this doesn’t (yet) permanently fix the issue lol but it certainly changed my focus today 💗💗💗
