@havingagoodyear: ✨First Week of School: Day 2! On the second day of school, we play Get to Know You Dice and write a “time capsule” letter. The letter is something students write to themselves during the first week of school, and I return it to them during the last week. It’s a fun and reflective way for them to see how much they’ve grown over the year. These two activities usually take up our 40–50 minute class period. The dice game is always a hit! It’s a fun, low-pressure way for students to get to know each other (and for me to get to know them, too). We always have a great time playing! If I had to pick a favorite back-to-school activity, it would definitely be the time capsule letter. It’s amazing how much students change over the course of the year, and seeing that transformation written out is really meaningful. I write a letter as well, and I’ve found that this helps encourage student buy-in. **You can access all of my back-to-school activities in my “teacher drive”. ☺️ They’re fully editable so you can tweak them to fit your needs. I hope they save you time and help you walk into the first week feeling confident and prepared! #teachersoftiktok #newteacher #firstyearteacher #backtoschool #firstweekofschool
