Yes Dean ride at night. Like u said it's way better for the engine,the body,no traffic etc. Just drive considerably slower like u mentioned and keep your head on a swivel. Aftermarket bar headlights are a must tho. Light that road up like daylight 100ft wide!

Have you ever heard of a guy named Scott Gottschalk? He's done a lot of crazy rides. An author and speaker. His latest ride was 120000 miles in 120 days but it was cut short by an accident. Anyways, he's my neighbor and just wondering if you've heard of him before

I’m not so much a night rider but I will get an early start about 3 am, get some nice miles in while it’s cool and if it gets to hot later I’ll stop and get a nice comfy bed…I don’t relish sleeping on the ground, just not my thing. 750 or 800 miles is a great day for me. I can get to sturgis in a day and a half and that’s with the ride through the badlands loop! I usually stay in deadwood when I’m out there. Ride safe Dean!

Not going this year but last year, my 27th Sturgis since 1991, it got miserable hot coming home. I leave in the predawn and would love to ride all night but worry about fuel availability.

All true ! And yes it’s dangerous I lost my little brother on his Harley 35 years ago . He was 23 . You can’t live in fear . I to like the night rides

We went to Wisconsin last year we left late evening and drove through the night. I will never travel during the day if again. Less traffic and cooler outside.
