Berserk is peak. I read the manga. I didn’t like the cp or sa but I won’t let those chapters ruin my reading experience. Those chapters are disgust but it still is a amazing series.

These scenes serve a purpose in the series: they make you disgusted with the world and the characters. I don’t think it had to be explicit though, pretty off putting and weird.

I will say, Japan is different. their age of consent was 13 at the time of berserk being written and only two years ago was it raised to the European age of consent which is 16 they're a bit behind on some stuff which means this sort of stuff is actually in a lot of media that was before 2023 now was it all illustration? no but a lot of it was heavily implied. all of this is probably part of the reason it exists he wanted to make a "dark gritty series" and he already displayed certain monsters use 🍇 so he couldn't necessarily retcon it later in the series. same thing happened in goblin slayer, though it got hit harder but that's only because it became popular recently lol.

to be honest that was the time where the author of berserk was still young and quite edgy at the time the art style and writing weren't perfected yet, and even author admits he done alot of controversial and weird shit back then but it doesn't glorify no it show the horrors of sa and dark world of human and it goes balls deep of how brutal, inhumane humans can be

Unfortunately Berserk doesn’t hold back on the fucked up portions of its world. And it treats itself with the appropriate weight of that subject matter, and the perps of those things are either literally the Antichrist or they get their just desserts. Including Guts for what happened in the first part of the Millennium Falcon War, though in his case it’s self inflicted because he knows it’s wrong yet that side of himself still did it. Which makes him hate himself and he nearly breaks.

So you continue reading Berserk despite its depiction of cp, but act like Mushoku Tensei is the worst thing ever made? I’ll admit — Rudeus is far from an ideal main character. His actions and mindset are often hard to justify. But Mushoku Tensei deserves some credit, especially for its character development and world-building, which are among the best in the genre. I’m not defending Rudeus’ behavior, and I mean no disrespect to Berserk — it’s an incredible series that also explores many dark and disturbing aspects of fantasy. I just think it’s worth acknowledging that Mushoku Tensei, despite its flaws, has genuine strengths, too.

Minus the eclipse arc. Good thats a lvl of character development most people wont be good with. Beserk is a series that it was a gem often time. that it even influence some designs looking at you dark souls and elden ring. Yes the SA is messed up, the creator himself said "i had to take break in between chapters." which i was like this stuff slaps because how realistic a fantasy world can be. also if you can tolerate beserk most "dark anime" will just feel like "wow this is tamed yet still messed up."
