my friends son works for a trucking company and he got a write up for getting hurt at work because he stepped into a pothole at work, I told her thats not legal. apparently its company policy they write everyone up for getting hurt

I reported mine and I didnt even get a response from my supervisor not a are you okay even nothing done until a week later and was sent to er due to being hurt badly and not realizing how badly and how much my life would change hr department had her back date everything on paperwork

Hell I filed mine never got paid on work comp . Took 8months for them to pay me . Now getting back surgery on 2 lower disc . I worked for 1 of the biggest Trash Corporations. Then they fired me July 22

I was injured at work. I started to incur a lot of medical bills as a result of my injury. I reported it to my job on the day it happened and a report was made however, I didn’t file a Worker’s Compensation claim until two weeks later cause I couldn’t keep up with all the medical bills.

And I did report it to my supervisor to the hospital nurse intake nothing was ever documented and now too many years Worker’s Compensation is out for employer

a company I worked for had subs if they gave fake insurance and my employer didn't check it, dude fell from a third floor and got really hurt and was in the hospital for 6 months, The boss paid for everything, The dude's boss left the country back to his home country, and eventually the introduced sued our company And he got a huge payout from our workers comp thankfully poor dude

so, i don’t want to sue, but i do want it documented that i filed a charge. is the EEOC a viable option for that? just to have on record for a 180 day period in case my employer retaliates?

You do a great job informing people of their rights. As a safety director I always tell employees if they get hurt to report. It is simply the right thing to do. You are right telling someone two weeks later insurance will likely deny it.

Cousin broke his back, they got mad he went right in and got an xray and checked out. They wanted him to just rest and stretch said he was just out of shape and not used to working a new job.

Report within 24-4& hours unless you’re unable to because of your injury … even if it’s a cut, do it!!
