How videos could also have links to other videos linked inside them. I remember some YouTubers back then experimenting with it and making a whole Choose your Adventure style series with some of them. One of them was this old YouTube stop motion animator and his series Dave’s Door.

Old YouTube wasn’t huge in Australia due to being so slow to roll out any kind of broadband. The average user would have been maybe on about 1.5mb/s and couldn’t sit the epic amount of time buffering etc..

mobile YouTube used to have a tab that showed that absolute most recent uploads to the entire site. so you could just find completely random stuff

Im so mad i missed out on ultra customized profiles on major platforms….the closest thing we really have nowadays is tumblr but even then the super detailed profiles only work on desktop
