The subconscious isn’t mysterious. If the separation between your consciousness and the unconscious does not exist then you will be aware of all aspects of self to the point of insanity. We are saved as much as we are condemned by how we operate on unknown motivations swimming in the subconscious.

Could it be that language created the illusion that the conscious mind is the show runner and that it was its job to figure stuff out and the rebellion of the subconscious mind is merely a call to a more profound way of relating to the world? How should I put this? There is no it to solve or contend with. Everything already exists and is knowable, the subconscious knows that but the conscious doesn’t. I think.

Most discoveries came like that (Benzene Ring – August Kekulé, Periodic Table – Dmitri Mendeleev, Structure of DNA – James Watson (inspired by dreamlike model insight), Alternating Current Motor – Nikola Tesla, Carbon Chains in Organic Chemistry – August Kekulé (first dream), Sewing Machine Needle – Elias Howe, Theory of Relativity Concepts – Albert Einstein (thought experiments), Bohr’s Model of the Atom – Niels Boh ,Table of Logarithms – John Napier (claimed dream inspiration), Google Algorithm Idea – Larry Page (dreamed of downloading the web) . What im trying to say is , when you well rested and invested into a topic you start to make progress, also where most dreams comes from . Dont over think it. Just think about it.

I think about and reread that McCarthy essay often. How language actually can obscure meaning. How grafting language onto our subjective experience hides truth and degrades real understanding. I’ve actually been planning a video on this topic at some point!

Eros speaks thru image, logos thru word. The printed word is a pale reflection of the sort of image the unconscious eros produces for the conscious mind to consume. But if logos has its pale image to vaguely reflect the image-making machine that is the uncosncious psyche, what pale “word” does the unconscious psyche contain to represent human consciousness? A: ego. “We”, our conscious mind, is surrounded by the uncosncious psyche which produced it. Horus sits on the lap of Isis, Jesus on the lap of Mary, the bishop on the “cathedra”, the king on the throne. It’s the same image of consciousness floating on the lotus flower of the unconscious — “turtles all the way down”. It’s hubris to imagine the uncosncious as “sub”, it’s just as often “supra” - consciousness. Why did you pick this topic to discuss? hint: the unconscious “seeded” the idea to you, your consicousness picked up in it, discovered aspects it still did not know, and then the unconscious supplied answers to its own question. That’s how Isis and Horus, Mary and Jesus, Cathedral and bishop, throne and king, unconscious and conscious, image and word, work, paycholigically.

Mendeleev (the inventor of periodic table) also had his epiphany in sleep. But idk if it has anything to do with mysticism or anything, just kinda resting brain figuring stuff out while processing info? It is not like these people were randos and got send scientific discoveries by some spirit. I also had moments in my life when I struggled with a solution (I am software engineer), then it will suddenly come to me in bed, so I have to go to laptop to write it down 😅😅. That is pretty common afaik, and not supernatural at all
