@ryanjosiah: Hey @The Salt Lake Tribune has anyone reported on how EVERYONE who has cleared legal hurdles for this temple is a member of the Church? #conflictofinterest #churchofjesuschristoflatterdaysaints #mormontemple #ldstemple #exmormon #deconstruction #religiousfreedom
Heber local here. We are less than 30 minutes from two other temples and 5 temples within an hours drive. Heber definitely doesn't need a temple. it's just a flex and many here are disappointed and others are passing out with joy.

Ryan - I have a question for you. Have there been studies of traffic increases around temples? I ask because I was talking with a neighbor and neither of us are LDS, but he thinks that the temple won’t have a ton of people at it during the week. we both hate that this is coming here

The theocracy is insidious because the church doesn’t actually have to send someone to the capital building to tell them how to vote. When the majority of the political leaders are LDS, they just vote the way the church wants anyways.

The Price temple will be the same battle. its a valley of dark skies, the city of helper itself will most likely rebel and revolt.

Interesting that this Temple is next to the private gated community Red Ledges, where most of the LDS Apostles have second homes, and private golf course. Guess they didn't want to drive back to SLC for their Temple meetings.

Lived in Heber for several years and EVERYONE is connected to the church there. Lots of bragging rights for being golf buddies with higher ups and a lot of the 12 have vacation homes there and in Midway. The church OWNS owns that town.

So peeved that it is getting built. I live in Layton and that temple completely ruined the view of the valley as you come down Oak Hill Drive. Pisses me off every time.

This is one of the best videos you’ve done to show the corruption and lack of regard for anything other than themselves.

I live here and I'm heartbroken. It's damaged the relationship between Mormons and non Mormons hugely.

somebody needs to get federal agencies involved. I'm pretty sure the EPA would have something to say about draining the aquifer

I’m not happy about the light pollution. But I’m really upset about it messing with the ecosystem! The traffic here is already a nightmare. Heber valley is so beautiful as it is.

The conflict of interest is crazy 😩😭 I work in healthcare and I can’t accept gifts from patients or family because it would be a conflict of interest.

Those that do not want the temple built are in the minority. That is ultimately the crux.

Wouldn’t the Japan temples be the most controversial since they got booted from Japan? 🤔🤔🤔

As rotten as the church is… it’s ultimately their state, which is why I no longer live there. My dad used to say “If you don’t belong, don’t be long…”

!!!! I live in this town and have watched this happen and yet i didn’t know they are putting it in a flood plain or over an aquifer! we who opposed knew about the light pollution and traffic but this too? this town is already having traffic gridlock and the hwys in and out of here are clogged and there are always delays. We’re close to the community that fought this - red ledges — but the people whose houses face this thing are gonna be blinded by this temple.

sides that I swear one of the things they say is that mountains are God's country but yet what better way to remind you of God then be able to see the stars! better then a temple/aulter. also, they do teach don't worship any other gods or objects.... isn't the temple an object?
