Adam :
The Quran says a person must be mature, mentally and physically before marriage, as in Surah An-Nisa 4:6, which talks about giving responsibility only to those with sound judgment. This means someone must understand and decide wisely before marrying. Marriage is a firm commitment and solemn covenant, as mentioned in 4:21, showing it requires mutual agreement and consent. Surah 4:19 also says not to inherit women against their will, stressing the importance of free and willing consent. A 6-year-old or 9-year-old cannot truly give this kind of consent. The wife must also receive a dowry (mahr), which she controls herself (4:24; 5:5). But what can a young child do with mahr? Since the Quran emphasizes maturity, consent, and serious commitment, how can marrying a child fit these rules?
So it’s clear that the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) did not marry Aisha at the age of 6 or 9. The Hadiths that mention this were written 200–300 years later and contain contradictions in the narratives surrounding her age. However, there is strong historical evidence that shows she was an adult, and pairing that with the Quran’s guidance, it's far more likely that Aisha was around 17 to 20 years old when she married the prophet, not 6 or 9 (if you wanna take the historical evidence into account). The Quran is the ultimate source of truth, so any Hadith that clearly contradicts it should be rejected completely.
