@liascenna: my family’s 6th baby is @Rocco’s Doughnut Company I wanted to share a tender story my dad told us the other night-some people don’t know this, but Rocco’s was named after my grandfather — my dad’s dad. He managed one of the first Dunkin’s way back when, and though he passed before we ever opened, his name lives on in something sweet. 🍑 The other day, my dad was eating a peach — something I’ve always associated with him, especially during the summers— when he paused and said, “My dad never got his ripe peach.” Days before his dad passed, he asked for one thing: a ripe peach. My dad bought one, but it wasn’t ready, so he left it on the windowsill to ripen. He never got the chance to give it to him before he passed. It didn’t ripen fast enough. And for some reason, that story stuck with me. Maybe because it’s not just about the peach. It’s about love, timing, and the little things we do for the people we love — hoping we’ll have enough time to do them. Rocco never got his peach. But he left behind a son who still remembers.
