Getting older is realising that Prickly was trying to be a nice, and caring principal - he saw an old piece of equipment, and wanted to replace it with a more durable plastic one so the children don't end up hurting themselves, but was portrayed as a villain. The scene with him in the movie especially hits hard. Justice for Peter Prickly

If a bunch of kids can set up a protest, that's very peaceful, loving. And in the end, they get what they wanted, maybe we should take a lesson. Spread peace, love and compassion instead of hate.

the older i get the more i empathize with Prickly. He tries to do his job and has only the best intents for the children, while he has to follow all the orders from the school council. From the students point of view he was often the antragonist, while the show also showed, that he really cared. Also as principle you have only few classes and are mostly in duty of managing the school, doing something that doesent suit your choice of becoming a teacher, which is to teach and accompany your students through their time in school.

Communist propoganda was so deeply ingrained into our childhood. One side you have people saying no one can own things, then on the other side you have what woild equate to the government owning the means of production, but framed as if it was a capitalist “taking” something from people. Being an adult is seeing how dangerous that slide is with the rust too

You should’ve atleast told them they’ll fix it up and give it a paint job. They do that some times to old jungle gyms. Paint them, and replace the broken rusty handle bars.
