@ollieig: like it just straight up hasn’t done what it was meant to, it’s a safety issue and it’s fing everybody over. #uk #content #twitter #fyp #government
doesn't that constitute a violation of the right of anonymity?

Can you just imagine the fallout if there's a data breach? Also we don't know the extent of the information they're collecting. If you have to create an account and verify your ID do they also save viewing history? Also will they be allowed to sell this information to third parties like they've already been doing?

The other problem is it’s not just blocking corn, but anything the government has deemed “adult” or “unsafe” which so far has included news on protests, and police brutality. So it’s already being used as draconian information control

I've just given up on the sites that are affected by this and won't be using them till the act is reversed or changed so it can actually be trusted

I think the priority has to be protecting children. We really don’t need any spicy content anywhere on the internet. Best if there was none.

It’s not just those sorts of websites though. I can totally agree with ensuring that children shouldn’t be allowed to see certain content but when I have to constantly be asked to upload documents to third party websites when trying to access certain mental health forums and help sites it’s a joke.

I live in Germany and just noticed that I am not able to view your content. Why does a law from a different country, that's not even in the EU anymore, affect me? Definitely unfair

I don’t see an issue with it really but what I do see an issue with is when you don’t even get the option to verify your age. Cough cough Twitter
