@10newsau: Passengers aboard an American Airlines flight were forced to evacuate on the runway at Denver International Airport on Saturday afternoon following a mechanical issue. Footage from the scene shows passengers using emergency slides at the front and rear doors of the aircraft as smoke billowed from the underside of the plane. In a statement, American Airlines said the aircraft experienced “a mechanical issue during the takeoff roll at Denver International Airport involving a tire.” The airline confirmed that all 173 passengers and six crew members exited the plane safely. The aircraft has since been turned over to the airline’s maintenance team for inspection. Denver International Airport also released a statement, saying “It’s first responders, along with the Denver Fire Department, responded to the reported issue involving Flight AA3023.” “Five people were evaluated for injuries at the scene, with one individual transported to hospital as a precaution.” The flight was scheduled to fly from Denver to Miami. #US #denverairport #aiportemergency #planeemergencylanding #planeemergency
