how does the NFL house the homeless, feed the needy, fund schools, fund hospitals, etc? because if not I know a GREAT fucking place to that funding. why in the world should citizens be paying for a recreational product?

Not sure if the funding was changed, but in New York for the Bills new stadium, it was $800million for homeless and food? Something like that. They took the funds away and used it for the Bills stadium

Fyi they lost it at the ballot box. BUT they went to the state right after and it got approved. Now the entire state is essentially paying for it instead of just Jackson county.

I mean if the city builds the stadium I would assume they would make a nice chunk of change from sales and other events held at the venue. I don’t know why sports teams would want to share that 😅

I would say I’d support a sale tax hike to help pay if I’m able to get something in return. Like free tickets or highly discounts tickets on good seats. But they’ll never do that.

I wish we got this say in NY for the Bills stadium. So many people were peeved about the taxpayers and the Seneca Nation of Indians paying for that stadium because the owners didn't want to foot the bill themselves. This stadium is going to be smaller, have significantly last parking, and the ticket prices are also going to be a LOT more, so those that go who are NY'ers get hit again.

If the team/owners get all the profits they should pay for maintenance and renovations. Why should tax payers pay for it and get nothing in return?
