@justlyds1: THE owner of one of South Africa’s top game reserves was horrifically trampled to death as he tried to move elephants away from tourist lodges. Chief Executive Officer FC Conradie, who co-owns the exclusive Gondwana Private Game Reserve, was suddenly charged at by an elephant. It is said to have attacked him with its tusks then stamped on him repeatedly. The horror left shocked rangers unable to save him in yesterday’s 8am attack. FC Conradie was said by staff to have a "love for elephants and nature" and would often go out to photograph them. A senior source at Gondwana said: "FC was a great guy to work for and he loved his elephants which were his favourite and he felt he had a trust with them but you have to never forget they may live in a reserve but are wild. "He will be greatly missed by all here." An investigation has been launched into his death. A spokesman for the Gondwana Private Game Reserve said: "FC Conradie was a passionate conservationist whose vision and leadership established us as one of South Africa's leading private game reserves. "His unwavering commitment to wildlife conservation, community upliftment, and sustainable tourist left a lasting impact on everyone who had the privilege of working with him. Credit: The US Sun

I originally thought this was a game reserve like what we have in the US. But I googled it and found out this is more like a conservation reserve. This place doesn’t allow hunting of animals. Google it first before you start making comments about this person. It seems like he was trying to help the endangered species there.

Y’all are going after the wrong man. There are plenty of hunting guides who profit from these animals, but this man was a conservationist deeply passionate about saving elephants and spent his life protecting them. These were free-roaming elephants, part of a rewilding effort to restore the native ecosystem. They live naturally in the wild with minimal human interaction. The team observes…they are not handlers…so the elephants retained their wild instincts. He wasn’t attacked because of mistreatment. The elephant likely felt threatened. Bulls, especially, are known for their inherent unpredictability. Right now is also when they enter musth, which makes them even more aggressive. These are wild animals…they’re not driven by poetic justice. They’re just... wild.

Yeah, I am always always on the side of the elephant. They’re not malicious, they are brilliant, empathetic, majestic creatures, and they know what they’re doing. For an elephant to do something like that they had a good gd reason.

Was he a bad dude or something? Just says he was a conservationist who loved elephants who died trying to move them away from tourists. Why the celebration? They're endangered and need the protection of reserves from poachers.

Shame on all who didn't read even and just go to the comments. He saved his guest of the Lodge, aa probably they might have triggered the elephants anger. Condolences to the family, the rangers, staff and his friends.

So much evil in these comments. This is why Christianity is seeing a revival while the "love and tolerance" crowd are dying out.

According to what I have researched on the Gondwana Private Game Reserve, it is not a hunting reserve — it is a photographic safari reserve that does not permit any form of trophy or game hunting. Unlike private reserves in South Africa that combine conservation with regulated hunting, Gondwana aligns more closely with eco-conscious safari models where tourism supports conservation efforts, not hunting. So anyone on here bashing the co-owner of this place should maybe research this article before speaking so harshly about the incident. Condolences to his loved ones.
