Worked parts store mid 80s, manager, owner's son, rarely had to look a part up. Show it to him and he knew. Bearing off some random piece of equipment, he would figure out what worked. Amazing knowledge on interchangeable parts.

O’Reilly’s is the worst parts store in the industry. I speak from experience. I work at a shop in WS and we hardly ever use them for this same reason! NAPA or Advance is the answer
