I never get people who cheer this guy. He had severe depression and undiagnosed mental illness. He stole an expensive plane, tied up traffic control and killed himself. I have similar issues but wouldn't hurt my family like this.

The air traffic controller was very kind to him. He wasn’t encouraging him. He wanted him to make it back safe. It’s inspiring that he took the opportunity to really live before he ended it all. We’ve all had moments like this. There’s a lot of The Sky King in all of us. I wish he could’ve found a way through his troubles.

I was actually sitting on the tarmac at Sea-Tac when the Sky King took off. Our flight was grounded for hours, and we had no idea what was happening. Now I know, and I feel a personal connection to the situation. I never skip his video.
