It just goes to show how society has become so pampered by CG effects. Expanding these scenes are beautiful but totally disrespects the true landscapes artists who painted the backgrounds and gave life to this historic film.

I’m so confused why they couldn’t have expanded the landscapes utilizing the matte painted backgrounds of the movie. As an artist myself, I feel like the artisans who created these incredible backdrops would be devastated to to see their contribution to arguably the most beloved film of all time completely erased. I’m so puzzled why they couldn’t have artists do this.

Looks like they just took the original actors and composited them into a bunch of new CG backgrounds. Even though I have no doubt that a bunch of that is AI generated, it seems like a ton of effort to put in to erase all of the amazing set work that was done on the original film.

I look at this and I’m like okay I’m good with AI in this case then I watch more and I’m like maybe I’m not. Idk it looks cool but still weird

It’s not that it’s not cool. It’s that there’s so many ppl that work on the set and design the backgrounds and set props and the whole 9. This fundamentally takes that away process, care and talent. The practically effects look aged because it’s an almost 100 year old film, leave it be because that preserves it and cements it in time.

They definitely got the sky wrong though. In the original the sky is slightly purple tinted, not a bright blue.

Everyone in the comments raging out yet perfectly fine with all of Hollywood’s remakes and reboots, and reimagining. 😂😂😂 they could’ve picked any movie for this experiment, but they picked a timeless classic. It’s only for this venue, relax people. Clown energy. 😂

I have to admit on one hand I don’t get tampering with the effects of the time especially for a film as big as this but on the other hand it is really cool to see technically speaking
