Michelle Carvalho :
I was bullied for a large part of my life in school and by some people who lived in my neighborhood. The damage it did to my self-esteem is irreversible. The social anxiety, body dismorphia, depression, anxiety, and relationship issues are only a few of the daily struggles that stem from years of being told I wasn’t enough in multiples ways. I now try my best to make sure my daughter never experiences the same trauma.

I begged my parents to be home schooled because of that reason. But they thought it would tough me up. It got to the point where I almost ended my life. I went to a school where even the teachers bullied me because of my disability

Pulling my son out to homeschool bc 3rd was our “being bullied era.” And I refuse to let him live through that again.

it is a serious thing my granddaughter, in the first grade at the April 6th, had a fifth grader, boring her for food. And when it was brought to the school's attention, it wasn't something that was urgent, that needed to be taken care of right away, I was told to make an appointment the principal had a couple meetings, but he would get with me and talk about it at a later time and when the bus driver was made of aware of it, she said she handled the problem and this is how she handled the problem, she put the bully in the seat in front of my granddaughter. Yeah, really handling the situation, it's sad, how the school system is now.

I can’t even imagine being in high school with smart phones and social media. High school sucked enough.

The middle school horror stories I hear around my hometown are terrible. The bullying is worse than ever, and so many kids have no fear because it’s so hard to actually prove anything or even punish them because of how the state board works. There’s no real punishment to stop them.

I started ditching in 4th grade!!! I would walk everywhere alone and look for a park with a hiding place to go inside. Bullying was so bad the teacher was in it. I was 9 years old 🥺 makes me sad thinking about it. Then i would go home to a beating. I rather get that then to hear all the girls and boys make me feel like nothing. It was so bad now i struggled with horrible anxiety and idk what to do to snap out of the fight mode. 😭

I remember for a writing assignment in catholic high school talking about being bullied in second grade and how those things stuck with me. The peer who read it told me it didn’t happen and second graders don’t get bullied.

I pulled my daughter out in kindergarten cause she was being bullied so bad. She is going to the 7th grade in August and wants to go back to school. I’m so excited for her but so scared at the same time 😔

In middle school (CHRISTIAN SCHOOL), a few girls would constantly make fun of my voice because it’s high & squeaky when I get excited. To this day (30), I try to be mindful of getting too excited because of my voice

My son was choked twice in kindergarten. I was made to sit down and be quiet and trust the school after t he first time. The second time this momma called the superintendent because nothing was documented. The kid is now labeled a bully.

Yup! Left in 6th grade, tried going back for 8th, and did a little of 9th. I don't get WHY some girls are just so nasty. I do regret letting them get under my skin and not getting my high school experience tho.

I stopped my career in the makeup industry and I took my kids out of public school and started homeschooling them my son was traumatized , I took them traveling to explore the world and hands on learning. Worked on healing and learning. This year they are going to private school, I’m nervous I hope things are different this time around. ❤️I understand.

I remember being jumped 2x by 3 girls when I was im 5th and 7 th grade bc I was shy.. I had SUPPORT and ENCOURAGEMENT from my family to defend myself.. I’m no longer have a thin spine. I feel often time we lack the support to stand up for ourselves. It’s harder now a days tho. I feel the kids are too soft now but crazier outcomes happening 😭

I was never pulled out of school even though I begged for years. I tried so hard to get home schooled but counselors would never allow it and would always convince my parents to leave me at school. “Because it was better for me and grades”
