I work at a tool store, and we close at 8:00 we’ll have customers come in 10 minutes before closing and when we make the 5 minute announcement, they’ll say “oh I thought you all close at 9.” In the years I’ve worked there we never closed at 9 and there is literally a opening and closing sheet outside the door.

we had a strict lock the door policy. At our shop we locked the doors 15 min before losing and only opened from the inside and announced the story was closing in 10m. our clocksvwerev10 m fast .the owner manager had to get her kids from the minder so 30 min after close we were all out no mater what.

I had to got to Kmart Saturday night just before closing coz I needed stuff for Sunday and wouldn't be able to get it in the morning. I was racing around and still got out with 5mins to spare. my quickest Kmart trip in under 10mins 😂 and I only bought what I needed. The Aussies know what I mean 🤣

Worked at a hard ware store lady came in before close to buy all brand new christmas decorations and the worst part the christmas ornaments she had you had to scan them all individually they were all different and her cart was FULL 💀

In Scotland, we have alcohol laws so people can only buy alcohol between 10am and 10pm. I worked in a local store and at 9.50pm I’d start telling people if they wanted alcohol to put it through immediately because the tills (register) automatically blocked the sale of alcohol. The amount of people who showed at at the desk at 10.05pm with a bottle of wine but unbearable 🙄

I worked at Goodwill for a while. some lady came in 10 minutes before closing and insisted she'd "be fast". proceeded to load a cart down, try it all on, leave half of it in the dressing room, and then take 15 minutes to check out. My manager was literally standing at the door waiting to lock it while I rang her up. she was oblivious to absolute fury we were all exuding
