You don’t have 3 days. You only get 3 days if the paperwork is signed in your home not the dealership. That’s the law.

Everybody keeps commenting that he has 3 days but that is incorrect. He initiated the sale by visiting the lot so he has no right to negate the transaction. The 3 day law only applies to products purchased as the result of solicitation, meaning the salesperson came to them to initiate.

Car is the biggest rip off. My daughter drives a 20 years old car. She paid 4K cash in 2012 when she graduated college. She said it’s a waste of money to pay for a new car.

I worked 25 years in the car business in Texas. For a NEW car you absolutely have 3 days to back out. A USED car is different. All sales are final on USED cars in Texas. Not sure about other states.

In New Jersey,General Rule: Once you sign a sales contract and take ownership of the vehicle, the sale is usually final. There's no general "cooling-off" period or automatic right to return a new car in New Jersey simply because you change your mind or find a better deal elsewhere.
