i’m sorry but LAFD is doing their job at trying to get to the emergency. people see and hear it coming and don’t pull to the side or stop like they’re supposed to. i see it all the time on the road. drivers don’t respect that they’re trying to get to an emergency. what if it were their family member that the fire engine was trying to get to?

Y’all the fire fighters are at fault. They need to slow down at intersections if not come to a complete stop, especially when they are running a red cause the cars on the cross stress cannot hear the direction they are coming from or see them. Yes, cars should slow and stop when they hear a siren but that’s not always the case. Fire fighters need to drive with due regard for safety of anyone and everyone on the road. They are driving a 20 ton tank they will k*ll most people they collide with. They cannot be going that fast when driving opposing traffic and crossing an intersection.

As a first responder, LAFD is at fault. They needed to make a complete stop at the red light and clear the intersection before proceeding. We don’t automatically get the right of way. We have to YIELD.

as a former Driver operator fire truck at fault...you need to slow down in each intersection..red lights and siren doesn't mean give right of way at intersection we are asking for the right of way.
